Andramatin’s exhibition, located at Arsenale Corderie, is titled ‘ELEVATION‘ and explores the elevational diversity in Indonesia’s vernacular architecture.
The installation takes the form of an intricately woven rattan shroud encompassing a spiral staircase made of Jabon wood (Anthocephalus cadamba).
Within this box of 5.5 x 6.6 x 6 meters, visitors are able to journey along this staircase of various heights and see an exhibition of elevations of various vernacular houses in Indonesia.

The installation consistently embraces the theme provided by Venice Bienale currators.
People are encouraged to move forward experiencing the space and reading the narrative in a linear motion.
The jury awarded ‘ELEVATION’ for being “a sensitive installation that provides a framework to reflect on the material and form of traditional vernacular structures.”
